In Pursuit of Wonder

After a lifetime of drawing as a hobbyist, I turned to acrylics and oils to explore how color and form can evoke a sense of wonder. My realistic pieces often involve texture with a nod to impressionism. My abstract paintings, also inspired by nature, are based on the theme of delight, whether testing combinations of shapes, colors, or effects of light. My compositions tend to depict motion or rhythm. I also love to play with deep glaze layers and gold paint, always seeking to express emotion and connect with viewers on a personal level.

Whether inspired by the land and sea around my home or by the quality of light, I employ a mindful layering of details on each painting. It’s a process that evolves as I develop as an artist.
